So What are Essential Oils? These Particular Oils are Essential because they carry a very strong, unique are known to be very Penetrable and must be used with extreme care…only are few drops of EO are normally used. If you have decided to implement EO’s in your Hair Care Regimen, it is best to mix EOs with another Carrier Oil such as Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Jojoba Oil, Sesame Oil, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and so on. The Carrier Oil of your choice will make it easier to apply to your hair and also prevent unwanted side-effects and skin irritations. Make sure that the EOs that you choose are 100% Natural & Pure. So let’s take a look at some of the Properties of some Popular Essential Oils used by many Naturals…including yours truly.
PEPPERMINT OIL (Mentha x piperta)
Peppermint is extracted from a hybrid mint plant. I use this EO in every Product I have. I love it because it has a cooling, soothing effect on the Scalp known to stimulate blood flow to the Scalp, delivering much needed Nutrients to encourage hair growth. It is a very strong Oil with a very Strong scent. Just 2-3 drops of this EO is all that is needed in your hair oil mixture to give you the beneficial cooling and stimulation to your Scalp.
ROSEMARY OIL aka ROE (Rosmarinus officinalis)
Rosemary Oil extracted from a woody, perennial herb. This Oil has a very strong but pleasant scent. I also use this Oil in all of my Products. It is commonly used to help regrow hair by stimulating the scalp. It also treats & prevents baldness, dandruff/dry scalp. It also slows down graying. Only 2-3 drops is all that is needed in your hair oil mixture to reap the goodness of this EO.
LAVENDER OIL (Lavandula latifolia)
This Essential Oil is obtained by distillation from the flower spikes of certain lavender species. It has an Aromatherapy that helps regulate blood circulation through the scalp which promotes hair growth. I also use this EO in all my Products. It is also excellent for treating & preventing Male Baldness & Alopecia and other hair loss issues, including dry scalp & dandruff. Lavender Oil is a powerful antiseptic in disinfecting the scalp in treating lice, lice eggs, nits and fungi. Use no more than 2- 3 drops in your hair oil mixture for its benefits.
TEA TREE PLANT
TEA TREE OIL (Melaleuca alternifolia)
This Oil is extracted from several leaves and plants related to the myrtle (shrub) family. It has a fresh camphoraceous odor and the color can range from pale yellow to colorless. I include this Essential Oil in my Products due to its superb fungus-fighting, antibacterial and antiseptic properties to eliminate lice and other fungi & viruses; promotes healthy hair growth. It is widely used to treat itchy/flaky/dandruff scalp but too much Tea Tree Oil can lead to skin/scalp dryness…not good. Use no more than 2-3 drops in your hair oil mixture for healthy hair and scalp.
LEMON OIL (Citrus x limon)
Lemon is a species from a small evergreen tree. This Essential Oil has a distinct aromatherauputic smell and is awesome for those with oily hair. It is known for preventing scalp dryness, dandruff and for killing lice, lice eggs and gently cleansing away accumulated dust, dead cells and unwanted deposits from scalp and hair due to its antibacterial and acidic properties. Only 2-3 drops is needed in your hair oil mixture for its benefits.
CAUTION: PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY UNDULATED ESSENTIAL OIL ON YOUR SKIN OR SCALP; DOING SO CAN CAUSE BURNS & SKIN/SCALP IRRITATION.
